The Fiery Joe

It’s not just hot, it’s spicy hot.  Give your coffee a kick by accenting a cup of joe with ancho chile.  Mix in a simple syrup made of brown sugar and cayenne, and then garnish with a dark chocolate square and dried chile skewer.


4 oz. Red Diamond 100% Arabica coffee, brewed

1:1 brown sugar

10 grams cayenne pepper

1 qt. syrup

1 dark chocolate square, for garnish

1 dried chile, for garnish


1Mix cayenne with sugar syrup

2Add 0.5 oz. of the mixture to the hot coffee

3Garnish with the dark chocolate square skewered with the dried chile
