“Teagarita”

Definitely not a teetotaler’s tea – this cocktail is a unique mix of a margarita and good old iced tea. The margarita part you know – tequila, triple sec and lime juice. The twist comes by adding a sweetened tea concentrate of Red Diamond Tea® and agave nectar. Margarita plus tea: shaken and served over ice.

Ingredients

Sweetened Tea Concentrate

1/2 cup Red Diamond Tea®

1/2 cup Agave Nectar

2 cup boiling water

“Teagarita”

2 oz. Silver Tequila

1 oz. triple sec

3 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)

3 oz. Sweetened tea concentrate (see recipe above)

ice

lime wedge, for garnish

Directions

Sweetened Tea Concentrate

1Combine boiling water and tea; turn off heat.

2Steep for 10 minutes

3Strain out tea leaves, reserving liquid

4Add agave nectar

1Combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice and Sweetened Tea Concentrate

2Shake with ice in a Boston Shaker (20 good shakes)

3Strain, pouring over fresh ice into a rocks glass, and garnish with a lime wedge
