Definitely not a teetotaler’s tea – this cocktail is a unique mix of a margarita and good old iced tea. The margarita part you know – tequila, triple sec and lime juice. The twist comes by adding a sweetened tea concentrate of Red Diamond Tea® and agave nectar. Margarita plus tea: shaken and served over ice.

Ingredients

SWEETENED TEA CONCENTRATE

  • 1/2 cup Red Diamond Tea®
  • 1/2 cup Agave Nectar
  • 2 cup boiling water

“TEAGARITA”

  • 2 oz. Silver Tequila
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 3 oz. Sweetened tea concentrate (see recipe above)
  • ice
  • lime wedge, for garnish

Directions

SWEETENED TEA CONCENTRATE

  1. Combine boiling water and tea; turn off heat.
  2. Steep for 10 minutes
  3. Strain out tea leaves, reserving liquid
  4. Add agave nectar

“TEAGARITA”

  1. Combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice and Sweetened Tea Concentrate
  2. Shake with ice in a Boston Shaker (20 good shakes)
  3. Strain, pouring over fresh ice into a rocks glass, and garnish with a lime wedge
