Ingredients
4 Tablespoons of Red Diamond Tropical Temptations Blackberry Tea
2 cups water
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp cornstarch* (optional)
1 tsp cold water* (optional)
Directions
1Steep Red Diamond Blackberry Tea in 2 cups of water for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain.
2In a medium saucepan, pour tea, blackberries and sugar (adjust amount of sugar to desired sweetness), stirring continuously over medium heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a full boil until the syrup is to your desired consistency.
3Optional: To thicken the syrup more, create a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch with cold water. Add slurry to syrup slowly to help reach desired consistency. NOTE: Too high of heat can burn the syrup Remove pan from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
4Pour syrup into a glass container and let cool completely before placing syrup into the refrigerator for storing.
5NOTE: Leftover syrup can be added as a sweetener for coffee or tea.
